One of our customers received his tuning box kit for the new Porsche Macan Turbo 3.6L and did a write up on the installation which he posted here on the MacanForums.  We thought we would share the installation for our readers as well.  This is one of the first available tuning options for the new Macan Turbo and it is well worth it delivery 90bhp and over 150nm of torque!  Check out the install by Jesse.  Order your VR Tuned Porsche Macan Turbo Tuning Box Here.

Installed on my 2015 Macan Turbo. I’ve only logged about 50 miles to date…but the thing works exactly as advertised and the installation is a snap. I highly recommend it.

So I received the unit yesterday and almost immediately opened it up and installed this thing. There are good instructions on their website…but I thought the pictures left a little to be desired so here are my pictures that you can use with their instructions.

What’s in the box (tuner module, harness, instructions)

After you’ve shut the car down and locked it with the keys WAY far away.

Step 1 – Remove this guy. Pretty simple, just pull straight up.

So the installation essentially is as simple as unplugging a sensor, plugging it into the harness, and plugging the harness into the OEM location (three times) and then hooking up a power and ground.

Sensor 1 (looking for little red wire):

VRT-6090

Sensor 2:

VRT-6102

They do a great job marking the harness so you can’t screw up which sensor goes where.

Sensor 3:

For power and ground you’re using two factory locations as per the instructions. They’re very easy to get to. The ground is on the fire wall (with wrench on it) and the positive is under the little panel (my photo got messed up)

Now connect the module to harness:

Put the module somewhere safe and out of the way. I chose to use the strut tower as a nice easy place to mount it.
