How to Install McLaren 570S Lowering Springs

This guide is to assist with the installation of the Vivid Racing Lowering Springs on the 2015+ McLaren 570s.

Notes

Professional installation is highly recommended.

Vehicle Alignment is highly recommended after installation.

Always refer to the vehicle service manual for torque specifications on OEM hardware.

Parts included:

Front Lowering Springs

Rear Lowering Springs

Step 1)

Securely lift the vehicle and remove all (4) wheels. Refer to your vehicle manual for proper lift (jack) points.

NEVER attempt to work under a vehicle that is not properly secured using jack stands. Failure to do so can result in serious bodily injury or death.

Step 2)

(Front Suspension) Remove the front Calipers, Rotors and sway bar end links, lower control arms & spindles. Repeat this step for the passenger side of the vehicle.

Step 3)

Use a spring compressor as shown to release tension from the spring.

Step 4)

Once you have removed as much spring tension as possible, lift up on the bottom spring perch to expose the shaft of the shock. Use a set of vice grips to latch onto the shaft as shown. This will cause some marring on the metal shaft, but will not cause any problems with the operation of the shock or spring.

Step 5)

While holding the vice grips on the shock shaft, use a wrench or long extension through the shock mount to unthread the mount from the shaft. Since a thread locking compound is used from the factory, extreme force will be required to break free. Make sure your vice grips are tightened down extremely tight so it doesn’t spin on the shaft. (You will need to use red thread locker when reinstalling this mount)

Step 6)

Remove the spring compressors and slide out the factory spring and replace them with the new Vivid Racing Spring.

Step 7)

Reverse the step above to complete the installation of the front springs. Always refer to your vehicle service manual for torque specifications.

Step 8)

(Rear Suspension) Remove the lower control arm, undo the electrical connection, and remove the entire shock and spring from the vehicle.

Step 9)

Use a spring compressor to relieve spring tension and remove the mount from the shaft. Refer to STEP 5 for how to remove this mount. After the spring is removed, install the Vivid Racing Spring. Complete this step for both rear driver and rear passenger sides of the vehicle.

Step 10)

Reinstall the rear shock and spring back into the vehicle. Always refer to your vehicle service manual for torque specifications.

Step 11)

Enjoy the new look and improved handling of your McLaren 570s with the new Vivid Racing Springs installed!
