While a lot of us like to modify our cars to make them louder, lower, faster, and cooler, we often overlook the most important part: the interior. Unfortunately, many modern sports cars come with very thin steering wheels that don’t feel very good in the hand. Our new Porsche Taycan Turbo came with a relatively boring and pretty thin steering wheel from the factory, and to improve the driving experience we decided to give it a big upgrade with a VR steering wheel.
The upgrade consists of taking an original OEM core and transforming the look and feel without sacrificing safety since we are using an OEM steering wheel core that retains all the original OEM steering wheel controls, airbags, paddle shifters, etc. Using an OEM steering wheel also eliminates the possibility of fitment or quality issues, guaranteeing we have perfect fitment.
On this particular wheel for our Taycan Turbo we added carbon fiber, blue 12 o’clock stripe, flat bottom, and perforated leather with more ergonomically shaped hand grips. This simple upgrade not only adds to the style of the interior, but completely transforms the driving experience with how the car feels when you’re behind the wheel.
