Hondas of the past were known for their high revving naturally aspirated engine that enthusiasts absolutely loved. Naturally, a lot of people were pissed off when Honda switched to turbocharged engines in the Civic. Although people were inititally upset, enthusiasts are learning to love the new turbocharged nature. There are, of course, some quirks with the new platform, but luckily the aftermarket is developing or has developed fixes to these issues. The shifter in the new Civic is arguably worse than previous Civics, but luckily Alta Performance has just released four new shifter related products.
These new products include a short shifter adapter, shift cable lockdown, solid shifter bushing, and a weighted knob. One or two products of these products will drastically improve the shift feel drastically. With all products combined, you’ll have unbelievably good shifter feel. Alta Performance is also offering a fifth new product which should improve the driving experience: a gas pedal relocation bracket. This places your throttle pedal in a more ideal location for heel-toe downshifts.
