Say hello to CRBN, the first-ever proprietary Carbon Fiber wheel barrel made by HRE Wheels. This is the renowned wheel brand’s first-ever carbon fiber rim barrel that uses a toughened resin system, optimized fiber orientation, and proprietary process to achieve a seamless layup. This is HRE’s latest project and has been years in the making with the goal of creating the world’s finest two-piece carbon fiber wheel.
HRE’s new CRBN program uses the latest advanced materials and manufacturing processes to surpass what was previously possible in the world of carbon fiber wheels. Combined with HRE’s impressive 40-plus-year career in producing high-performance wheels, CRBN sets the new industry standard. Initially, the CRBN lineup will consist of carbon fiber rims paired with all-new forged aluminum centers. The new Series HX1 will consist of four styles, the HX100 Mesh, HX101 Y-Spoke, HX104 V-Spoke, and HX107 Split 5-Spoke. These wheels will be offered in 20-, 21-, and 22-inch diameters, with more fitments to come.

Specially designed for supercars and hyper-exotics, the new HRE CRBN rim features a highly strengthened resin system for achieving high impact resistance. It is created using precision closed-mold Vacuum-Assisted Resin-Transfer Molding (VARTM), giving the new HRE CRBN rim exceptional fiber volumes for impressive, class-leading strength-to-weight ratios. These new two-piece wheels will feature the CRBN rim joined to the forged centers with strong titanium fasteners. You will have the option of choosing a “Frozen” Satin or Gloss clear coat on the CRBN rim itself and any of HRE’s custom finishes for the forged center.

Compared to standard aluminum, carbon fiber must meet a very different set of engineering constraints. However, just like all HRE wheels, the new CRBN rim is engineered to minimize unsprung mass and rotational inertia while maximizing strength and impact resistance for the best performance possible. These special efforts translate to optimal acceleration, handling, and braking. Moreover, extra care was taken in the design and construction of HRE’s CRBN rim in order to eliminate the unsightly seam visible on other carbon-fiber rims. The HRE CRBN rim, unlike the competition, boasts a seamless outer layer that shows the type of strict attention to detail paid by HRE on all of its products.
Since each wheel is built to order, there is a virtually infinite combination of fitment, color, and finish options available for a truly unique wheel buying experience. HRE’s CRBN rims are all available in center-lock designs and are OE TPMS and lug hardware compatible for ease of installation. The rim also features an RFID chip embedded inside the barrel for quality assurance traceability and unparalleled customer support.
