With the 2018 Mustang comes the third generation Coyote, the most powerful version of Ford’s famous 5.0L. With the new fuel system that combines port fuel injection with direct fuel injection, higher horsepower levels are theoretically achievable. In order to make more power, you need to move more air, and that’s where an aftermarket exhaust comes into play. Kooks is one of the biggest names in the exhaust industry and they’ve just updated their current S550 long tube headers to be compatible with the 2018 Mustang GT as well as do some testing with the 3rd gen Coyote.
The redesigned headers are slightly different than before, allowing them to work properly with the 2018 GT. The headers now include O2 extensions for all specific years. The catback system and axle back system have also been updated with the quad exhaust tips for the 2018 GT. As tested by Kooks, their full exhaust system combined with a tune added an absolutely insane 77rwhp and 66ft-lbs of torque to the 2018 GT.
