Method Race Wheels is pleased to announce the launch of its new 706 Bead Grip wheel. The 706 wheel brings the classic styling of the popular 312 wheel to Method’s Bead Grip lineup. The traditional six-windowed point design paired with the brand’s patented Bead Grip technology delivers the ultimate security at low tire pressures. The 706 Bead Grip wheel is currently available in a Method Bronze or Matte Black finish to give your ride added styling with maximum performance.
The Bead Grip technology used in the 706 series allows for the deflation of tires down to pressures that previously would have required beadlock wheels to ensure the tires didn’t debead. It’s also beneficial in reducing tire inflation pressure while off-roading to increase a tire’s contact patch surface area. This provides better traction on loose surfaces as well as improves overall ride comfort by effectively reducing the tire’s spring rate.

Method’s patented Bead Grip technology aims to be the bridge between conventional street wheels and beadlock wheels, which are not legal on the highways. Reducing air pressure in the tire increases traction and road quality out on the trails. The integrated Bead Grip grooves can be found on both the inner and outer bead seat, and engages the tire bead for a stronger hold under extreme side load and lower air pressures. The 706 Bead Grip’s ‘safety hump’ also gets a more aggressive profile which further stabilizes tire bead in the seat.
The 6×5.5 and 5×150 models with the “Tall Cap” (see gallery below) designation are specifically designed with the 80 and 100 Land Cruisers in mind. The cap on these models has extra height to clear the stock hubs on the 80 and 100 Series. Please note, however that this new cap will not work with other versions of the 706 or Bead Grip wheel series.
