We have said it before and we will say it again. Improving the feel of your car can be as simple as replacing the factory steering wheel and shift knob. A well designed racing wheel gives you more control and a sportier feel without touching anything else. Of course, the improved aesthetics don’t hurt either. Throw in a new shift know and your tuner sports car feels like a new animal. The Cusco steering wheel is 350mm and comes available in leather, suede or carbon fiber. The two fabrics also feature red stitching, similar to that of the FR-S. The shift knob is a direct replacement with a 44mm ball for better grip when grabbing gears.
For a little extra performance, the Cusco ignition capacitor box and harness helps improve spark which improves acceleration response, decreases the loss of power while using the A/C, smooths the engine revs and cuts down on unburnt fuel. And while you have the electrical apart, maybe it is time to install a grounding kit to ensure your entire electrical system is performing as expected. With today’s multiple computers, power surges can hinder horsepower and torque when the system isn’t fully grounded. Cusco developed their kit specifically for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.
Cusco finishes off today’s new products with their 2mm overbored throttle body. As we have discovered with Porsche, Subaru and Nissan cars, the oversized throttle body can make a huge difference. The more air you can get into your engine, the more fuel you can push which means the more power you can produce. Cusco makes this install easy as their throttle body retains all factory OEM sensor connections. With the extra 2mm, you can expect to see an improvement in throttle response and overall power.
