If you’ve ever looked for an aftermarket exhaust for your Audi, chances are you came across some AWE products. They are extremely popular in the Audi/VW market thanks to their excellent fit and finish. To stay popular, of course, you must continue releasing new products, and that’s exactly what AWE has done with their new exhaust suite for the 8V RS3. Like many of their other Audi exhaust systems, have released two different versions of this catback to appeal to a wide range of different buyers.
A SwitchPath version and a Track Edition version of this new exhaust will be available. The SwitchPath system uses a valved muffler and works perfectly with the OEM ECU setup. You can keep your RS3 quiet in the neighborhood, but switching it into Dynamic Mode will crank up the exhaust volume. The track version uses the same piping and design, without the valve, meaning it will be loud all the time. Both systems use a combination of 2.5” and 3” mandrel bent piping for excellent flow. As tested by AWE, this exhaust is proven to gain upwards of 45 horsepower and 40 ft-lbs of torque!
Separate from the new catback systems is the new AWE performance mid-pipe. These midpipes are designed to work with both the AWE systems and the OEM system. The midpipes use straight T304 stainless steel with no resonators. Not only will this provide a boost in performance, but it will also crank up the sound and let that 5-cylinder engine sing.
