With turbocharged vehicles, it’s easy to turn up the boost through tuning, but you’ll quickly realize that heat management becomes an issue. Compressed air is hotter than uncompressed air, which ultimately reduces density and increase the chance of pre-detonation in your engine. For this reason, pretty much all turbocharged use some sort of intercooler to reduce charge air temperatures.
In the case of the Mercedes C63 AMG, an air-to-water intercooler is used to reduce charge air temperature before it enters the engine. To keep the water temperature in the intercooler at the correct level, a heat exchanger is used, which is basically just a radiator for your intercooler. Thanks to this design, a more efficient heat exchanger can massively improve the performance of the OEM intercooler system.
This is where CSF comes in with their new heat exchanger for the W205 C63 AMG. This new heat exchanger is a direct OEM replacement and features a 2-row, 42mm core with CSF’s exclusive B-tube technology.
In their recent testing, CSF found their heat exchanger reducing charge air temperatures by as much a 68% and reducing heat soak by as much as 400% compared to stock! The massive reduction in heat soaking means you can run your C63 faster and harder than ever before without heat issues!
Features:
- Lower charge air temperatures
- Direct fit – no modifications required for installation
- 2-row, 42mm core
- CSF’s exclusive B-tube technology
