With this product, BMW’s weak OEM plastic end tanks have been replaced with CSF’s larger, CFD-analyzed, 100% TIG-welded cast end tanks. The top side of CSF’s new Charge-Air Cooling System now features air inlet tanks with seamlessly integrated charge pipes instead of the factory plastic charge pipes that are glued to the intercoolers. Similar to the previous F1X model, CSF has once again integrated dual 1/8 NPT ports into the outlet side air tanks to allow for fast and easy installation of aftermarket methanol injection systems. What’s more, the side-specific positioning of these ports has been strategically designed and located directly into the post-intercooled charge-air stream for optimal performance.
This trailblazing design tested the engineering and manufacturing capabilities of CSF, with more than a year of development and several prototype revisions to achieve the absolute perfect fitment into the BMW engine bay with only a few millimeters to spare. In other words, this groundbreaking High-Performance Charge Cooler is a true plug-and-play package that requires no modifications to install.
It’s important to note that before finally releasing these new charger coolers to market, CSF worked tirelessly alongside RK Autowerks to thoroughly install, verify, and test the system on two of the world’s fastest and most powerful M5 Sedans.
