When the Toyota GR Supra was released in 2019, it was initially only available with the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that delivers 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. While the 2020 model only came with one powertrain, the 2021 Supra will include a new entry-level model for those wanting to get in on the action at a lower price point.
From 2021 and beyond, a new model equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has been added to the lineup that produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. At the same time, the 2021 model equipped with the previous 3.0-liter inline-six engine has had its horsepower tweaked up to 382. The newly added base model is more than 200 pounds lighter than the 3.0-liter and, while you’re getting less to play with, max torque arrives earlier.

With that said, HKS USA has just released new product information for the 2021 Toyota GR Supra models. The high-performance HKS Super Turbo Muffler is now available for 2021+ GR Supra models equipped with the new 2.0-liter engine. Featuring the latest high-performance exhaust technology, the Super Turbo Muffler achieves great exhaust efficiency while meeting strict Japanese noise regulations. It also complies with Japanese vehicle inspection standards.
The HKS Super Turbo Muffler for the 2021+ Toyota GR Supra delivers a comfortable and sporty sound while suppressing the unpleasant soundtrack that occurred at the normal RPM range. This muffler spotlights a straight structural design without a narrow part with a middle pipe that has been divided into a dual layout as opposed to the stock single layout. Such allows the system to achieve low backpressure and ensure it adheres to Japan’s stringent sound regulations while still producing that tantalizing sport sound enthusiasts love.
This product is also compatible with the Supra’s stock exhaust valve. When designing this muffler, HKS employed a specific structure that allows the reinstallation of the stock exhaust valve motor. Switching between sport and normal modes will function as usual. In other words, the valve control functions from the stock muffler will continue to work as it should.
