Turbochargers are great for increasing power in small engines as Can-Am has done with the X3, but the nature of a turbocharged system causes extremely high air temperature entering the engine. The job of the intercooler is to cool off the compressed air before it enters the engine. In the case of the X3, the intercooler is mounted flat and relies on an air duct/air scoop to push air through the intercooler. Unfortunately, the OEM air duct isn’t very efficient at pushing air through the intercooler, so Agency Power took it upon themselves to develop a solution to this problem.
The new Agency Power intercooler duct takes the OEM design and makes it more aggressive. The size of the center scoop from 1.5 inches to 4 inches tall and each side scoop from 1.5 inches to 2 inches with all keeping a 4-inch width. The intercooler duct cover increases the inlet air flow by over 40% from 32 cu-in to 46 cu-in. The whole system is designed as a direct OEM replacement and includes everything you need for a smooth and simple install. The result is more airflow to the intercooler, resulting in lower charge air temperatures and more power!
