As you probably know, not all the power the engine produced is used to drive to wheels. On the front of the engine, you will find a handful of accessories which are driven by a serpentine belt. These accessories include the alternator, power steering pump (where applicable), water pump, smog pump (where applicable), and other accessories. All these accessories ultimately decrease the amount of power being sent to the wheels. If you want to decrease the amount of power the accessories use, you can either increase the size of the accessory pulleys or decrease the size of the crank pulley, which is where under-drive pulleys come into play.
Agency Power’s new under-drive pulleys for 2015+ 2.0L TDI and 2015+ 1.8L/2.0L TSI engines reduces the amount of power need to drive the accessories. The result is more power to the wheels thanks to the reduction in power used for the accessories. On top of the power gains, the reduction in rotational mass helps the engine rev quicker and more freely. Included with the pulley are a crank bolt and a new serpentine belt.
