Porsche makes some of the best sports cars in the world, but there is always performance left on the table. The new 991.2 Carrera uses a turbocharged engine, and when you compress air it heats up. For this reason, intercoolers are used, but often times manufacturers use the smallest intercooler that will meet their requirements. Using a larger intercooler(s) results in lower air temperatures and denser air entering the engine.
Alpha Performance is best known for their products for the R35 GTR, but they make awesome products for all sorts of cars. One of their newest products is an intercooler kit for the 991.2 Carrera. The intercoolers utilize Garrett Intercooler cores which are 50% thicker than the OEM intercooler cores. Each core uses 20 fins per inch for optimum cooling resulting in much lower air temperatures.
Included with the kit are carbon fiber ducts which help channel air through the intercooler fins. The ducts are designed specifically for the 991.2 with the Alpha Performance intercoolers. Without the use of the carbon fiber ducts, you will have terrible efficiency and probably end up losing power.
