There is really no denying that the Polaris Slingshot is a unique vehicle. The idea is simple, make a very small go-kart-like car that is street legal, and do it all with only three wheels. You may think the three-wheeled nature of the car makes it handle funny, but surprisingly it doesn’t. As an enthusiast, you’ll probably completely skip over the looks or weird three-wheeled design and get straight to adding more power. One of the easiest ways to add more power is with col air intake system.
A cold air intake adds power to your Slingshot by lowering the intake air temperatures, this results in denser air entering the engine which allows for more fuel to be adding. These two combined results in more power. Colder air also helps prevent detonation, helping your Slingshot run strong for longer. Injen is one of the biggest names in the aftermarket industry when it comes to intake systems, and they just finished developing their new Slingshot cold air intake system.
When Injen tested their new intake system, they found gains of up to 12 horsepower and 10 ft-lbs of torque. The tubing is made of mandrel bent 6061-T6 aluminum and is available as polished, black, or wrinkle red finish. The intake is designed to bolt right on to your Slingshot without any other modifications and simply work, so you won’t have to worry about anything weird happening after installation.
