The basic idea of an aftermarket intake is to supply the engine with more air, and ideally more cold air, since hot air is less dense than cold air. The OEM intake on most vehicles uses some scoop or snorkel to direct outside air from the grille or fender toward the air box, however, most of them are small and direct little air to the air box.
By using a larger snorkel, more cold air from outside the vehicle can be directed to the air intake, which is the idea behind the Velossa Tech BIG MOUTH. The Big Mouth is designed to improve low-speed airflow and improve overall airflow to the intake by using a significantly larger snorkel. Regardless if you have a stock intake or aftermarket intake, the Big Mouth allows more cold air to reach the intake box.
