If you want to improve the shifter feel without installing a short shifter kit, a weighted shift knob is a great choice. By lowering the height of the shift knob, you decrease the throw of the shifter, and by increasing the weight of the shift knob, you improve the feel of the shifts.
A big issue with many weighted shift knobs is the aluminum construction which becomes unbearably ;hot during the summer.
