Although it may sound like a minor issue, being forced to be inside your McLaren to operate the convertible top is rather obnoxious. Plus, you have to hold the button down for the entire duration of the tops movement. Although it sounds like a minor issue, it can become extremely annoying over time.
SmartTOP released their control module for the McLaren 650S last month, and they have now confirmed that module works with the MP4-12C. Just like on the 650S, with this control module you’ll be able to operate the convertible top with a quick push of the button. You’ll also be able to open/close your windows and top from outside the vehicle with the factory remote.
