New Solutions for Those Required to run a Front License Plate
Alta, a sub brand of Perrin Performance, has announced a new mounting solution for owners of MK7 GTI vehicles. Plate relocates have been a very popular modification for enthusiasts over the past few years, there are a few reasons why.
First, it allows you to preserve your bumper by not having to drill holes. The last thing you want to do is pick up a new / used vehicle and have to physically drill into in in order to mount the plate. For those who are required to rock a front license plate, this could potentially save you from having to fill and spray the bumper later on.
The second reason these have been popular is ensuring proper air flow. Most of the time the manufacturer will put the plate in the dead center of the front bumper. On many modern vehicles there are cooling ducts and inlets for air to flow past the intercooler and radiator. Having something like a front plate in front of these areas will decrease flow and impede performance.
The last thing is styling… Most people do not want the normal front plate mount that looks like it came off a car lot. This new part actually contours to the bumpers edges, making it look streamline with the body. You can also make slight adjustments to place the new front plate exactly where you would like it to sit.
