The DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) Porsche 997.2 Carrera was released for the 2009 and 2010 models as a facelift and engine change to the 997.1 Carrera from 05-08. The Carrera variant was still available in a 3.6L or 3.8L engine but now the new “automatic” versions was the start of the PDK transmission. Shifting incredibly fast, the PDK was leaps and bounds better than the Tiptronic. Producing 380 horsepower to the crank, the 997.2 Carrera S has more to give much like the earlier 997.1 Carrera. Doing an ECU flash is a great way to improve the 997.2 Carrera’s throttle response, low end torque, and mid range pull to redline. When we tune the 997.2, we alter things like the torque limiter, speed limiter, fueling, timing, and can make changes for high flow or catless exhausts.
