Many enthusiasts intend on using their Porsche 981 Cayman to the maximum potential which means taking it to the track. Conditions can be tough on a car during a track day as every component is being put through strenuous use. The suspension, steering, brakes, engine, transmission, and many others are hard at work.

One thing many people tend to overlook is the support of the driver under hard cornering. The g-forces exerted from some of these vehicles are enough to pull the driver practically out of their seat if not strapped down properly. Factory seatbelts aren’t intended to hold the driver against their seat as they need to move around to reach within the cabin.

Being that the 981 does not offer a factory harness bar like some of the European model GT3 and GT2 RS there is no safe location to mount a harness. RSS developed a two-point harness bar that bolts directly to the b-pillars. This allows the use of a six-point harness mounted in the vehicle safely.

Weighing in at 7-pounds, the bar was engineered to be as lightweight as possible as every pound counts for a racer. Providing slight rigidity between the b-pillars can also improve handling as it stiffens the chassis. After the installation of the harness bar and harness, the driver will no longer need to hold on to the steering wheel under high g-force.

Features:

  • Joins the two b-pillars together providing extra chassis rigidity
  • Allows the use of a 5 or 6 point harness
  • Easy bolt-in installation
  • Weighs only 7-pounds to stay as light as possible
  • Does not interfere with seating space
  • Raw, white, or black finishes available
