If you’re into racing, as in time attack, GT300, GT500, and other racing series, then you’ve probably heard of WedsSport. More specifically, you’ve probably heard of the WedsSport TC series. This series of wheel began back in 1993, and it was designed to be lightweight and strong without breaking the bank. The current generation TC series wheel, TC105N, has been a great success in racing and tons of enthusiasts choose this wheel for track toys and daily drivers. WedsSport has been hard at work for years developing the new TC105X, and it’s now available for preorder!
Like the current TC105N, the TC105X had a ton of R&D time in Japan’s SuperGT racing series. The data that WedsSport collected from this racing series was vital to the development and helped them design a wheel that could withstand extreme stresses without being too heavy. Compared to the TC105N, the TC105X has six fundamental changes that make it stronger. These changes don’t alter the visual appearance on the wheel, so it still has that 10-spoke design that so many enthusiasts love.
The main changes include a revised N-Frame, spoke side cuts, different barrel profile which allows for more big-brake-kit fitments, modified flanges, a reinforced center, and other small changes. All the changes were designed to cut weight while also increasing strength. When it comes to track focused wheels with lots of JDM fitments, the TC105X is one of the hottest wheels of 2018. As stated above, we are now accepting preorders and should see the first batches of TC105X shipping out in Q4 2018.
