The Mercedes-Benz E63 is one of best high-performance sedans currently available. The 5.5L twin turbo V8 under the hood of the 2011 – current E63, known as M157, is very tuner friendly. When RennTech got their hands on this engine and began developing their R-Performance packages for the M157, it became clear just how much power it could make with simple bolt-on modifications.
In stock form, the M157 power E63 outputs an impressive 544 horsepower and 590 ft-lbs of torque. The R1 package adds an ECU tune, upgraded diverter valves, and air filters, and it bumps the power up to 696 horsepower and 801 ft-lbs. The R2 package is comprised of the R1 package plus a carbon fiber airbox and sport mufflers, bumping the power up to 716 horsepower and 826 ft-lbs. The R3 package takes the R2 package and adds RennTech upgraded turbochargers which increases the power to 790 horsepower and 895 ft-lbs. The R3+ package adds in downpipes, an intercooler kit, and high flow fuel pumps, pushing the power all the way to 840 horsepower and 945 ft-lbs.
