Although it may sound like a minute issue, being forced to be inside your McLaren to operate the convertible top is annoying because there isn’t a good reason for it being this way. Plus, you have to hold the button down for the entire duration of the tops movement. What if there was a way you could easily control the top with a quick button press or even with your key fob. SmartTOP released their control module for the McLaren MP4-12C last month, and they have now confirmed that module works with the 570S. Just like on the MP4-12C, with this control module you’ll be able to operate the convertible top with a quick push of the button. You’ll also be able to open/close your windows and top from outside the vehicle with the factory remote. The open/close button can be reversed if desired.
Like other SmartTOP control modules, the installation process is straightforward, and the module itself is very discreet and can be uninstalled without a trace of it ever being there.
