Up to this point, our Project Raptor has been rocking 20×9 Rotiform wheels wrapped in 37” tires. While this setup was very cool and unique, we love to change things up. Vorsteiner entered the off-road market with their Venom Rex line back in 2018, and the VR-601 has been a massive hit for Raptor owners. We decided to swap out the Rotiforms for a set of VR-601 wheels, but we didn’t want a basic off-the-shelf color. The color scheme of our Raptor has been Black, Grey, and Orange, so we had the new VR-601 wheels painted in the Raptor Orange color to match the theme.
Wrapped around the 20×9 VR-601 wheels are 37×12.5 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. The whole wheel/tire package easily clears with no rubbing thanks to our previously installed RPG leveling kit and ADD Frame Cut bumper, plus plenty of trimming. You might be thinking, why choose a 20×9 wheel for an off-road truck? Isn’t it going to break? Unlike most off-road wheels which use a cast construction, VR-601s use a flowform construction which results in a much stronger wheel. Learn more about cast vs flowform vs forged wheels here.
