At the 2012 Sema Show, RevoZport introduced the first-ever complete aero and performance kit for the BMW 1M. The program was a great success and highly regarded as one of the best designed aftermarket upgrade packages for the vehicle. The design took off 60kg of weight throughout the car simply by replacing some panels with carbon fiber ones and changing the exhaust to a titanium one. The performance results were absolutely staggering on the racetrack.
Today, the BMW M2 F87 is wider, faster and equipped with more power, so it could certainly use an aggressive aerokit to live up to its performance. This time around, RevoZport took most of the elements from its predecessor for the 1M and added even more to upgrade the M2. At the front, there is a 3-way adjustable front splitter (street, sport and track setup) with cooling vents routing cold air directly to the brake discs. The canards around the front bumper vents area ram more air to the oil cooler and keep the engine cool at all times. The vented hood has been proven to extract hot air directly from the radiator to help this process. All of these aspects are designed for the purpose of keeping the motor at its optimum temperature during “hard driving.” On sides of the car, the door sills extend the front part of the rear wheel arch to give that muscular fender-flare look that is reminiscent of a Porsche 911 Turbo. Toward the rear, you will spot a GT spoiler designed with a swan neck mount which, from the CFD (computer fluid dynamics), shows that the support mounted from the top of the spoiler blade actually produces better downforce than from the bottom. Finally, the vented rear diffuser is designed to provide better ground effect and help vent the heat from the exhaust muffler.
The BMW M2’s performance is also upgraded with this kit from the original 370hp to a whopping 480hp. This is due to the free-flow lightweight titanium exhaust, ECU and intake system.
