Mods4Cars just released a SmartTOP convertible top controller for the Ferrari California. The add-on SmartTOP convertible top controller kit is available and effective immediately for the new Ferrari California models “30” and “T”. It allows owners to open and close the top from a distance using the original key fob remote. It also adds one-touch convenience to the center console switch. Press Release: A few weeks ago Mods4cars launched the SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the Ferrari California. Effective immediately all models are supported by the kit, including California 30 and California T. “We are happy to announce that we were able to supply our modules for the latest models quite quickly.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow.
The SmartTOP kits are aftermarket products that can be installed into the car by anyone. They offer smart functions and features that make using the convertible top easier and more fun. With the kit installed it is possible to raise and lower the top from a distance by using the original key fob remote. “One can press a simple key combination on the fob to open the top while still approaching the car.” Sven Tornow continues. The original remote fob does not need to be altered or replaced.
Additionally it is possible to control the top from the console switch with one-touch convenience. The switch does not need to be held down for the entire duration of the operation. A quick tap is enough to start a full automatic cycle. “This feature saves time” Sven Tornow points out “as the SmartTOP user can just tap the top switch, get out and lock the car, while the top continues to close.”
The position of the windows can be programmed as well. Some people like to drive with the top down and windows down; others prefer the windows to be up. It is worth mentioning that top and windows can be controlled independently from the remote. Another setting allows the rear windows to automatically rise for better wind deflection.
An extended mode can be enabled, which allows the engine to be started or stopped while an ongoing top operation continues. All functions and features can be programmed according to individual taste and preference. The module comes equipped with a USB port for simple firmware upgrades and programming via Windows PC or Mac. Support software and updates are available free of charge. Settings can also be programmed directly in the car using a sophisticated setup procedure.
The SmartTOP kit comes complete with a custom designed plug-in-between wiring adapter. Installation is easy and can be done by anyone. The SmartTOP module is connected to the car’s electronics by simply connecting OEM plugs. No wires need to be cut or spliced into; it is always possible to remove everything without leaving any damage.
