The chassis of the WRX was designed for performance and comfort. Race inspired, but daily driving. However there is the ever lasting chassis flex that only one thing can fix it. A front strut tower bar. There are several models, designs, and prices. For Project Vivid WRX II we chose the best. STI carbon fiber front strut bar!
Installing the front strut bar is not difficult and can be time consuming for first timers. But have no fear, we can make this easy for you. Simply start by taking the bolts off of your strut tops. Dont worry about the struts falling out, the car is holding them in place. Place the strut bar ends on the screws and tighten them down. Dont tighten them to much or you will snap the head off and have to get a new strut.
Once you have mounted the other side on, you now have to place the connecting bar that joins the two ends together. This bar goes behind the intercooler and you will need to remove the bracket that holds the AC line to the firewall. All strut bars require it and it has no negative effect on the AC. Once the bracket is removed and the pieces are connected you are done!
How does the strut bar affect handling? Well the bar connects the two strut tops reducing flex and body roll. This allows the car to handle corners better and faster. The flatter exit out of turns is a definite benefit and must have for daily drivers or racers.
