The infamouse STI shifter trim. Everyone wants it, nobody can figure out how to install it. What does it do? Nothing. Why do you want it? It says STI and makes your gear shift console look awesome!
STI shifter trim needs to be cut to install it. It includes the aluminum CNC ring and 6 screws to attach it. The center console needs to be removed for easy installation. Once removed you can measure appropriately to begin cutting.
Using a dremel, you need to widen out the console to fit the STI trims bolt hole areas. The trim will drop straight down once cut out properly. Make sure you widen only where the bolt holes are so the trim fits snug and no gaps can be seen.
You will want to take a small drill bit to drill directly through the trim holes into the boot. Once you have the console cut place it in on and drill straight down on each hole. Then you can take the screws provided and place them on the trim. The screws will pull the boot and ring to the trim for a secure fit.
Once it is all screwed together replace the console and you have a new bling factor!
