The Corvette Z06 has respect all by itself. The massive 7.0L LS7 engine is renowned as one of the best engines ever made. But that is not to say there isn’t a way to improve it.
STS Turbo is a company that prides itself in producing quality turbo kits for both cars and trucks. This Twin Turbo setup, like all STS Turbo kits, uses remote mounted (near the rear of the car) turbos on the exhaust instead of a traditionally mounted engine bay turbo. There are many benefits to this method including cooling. Turbochargers produce tons of heat, and that heat can build up and become trapped in the engine bay. This is not the case when the turbos are mounted towards the rear of the car, away from the engine.
The Twin Turbo Z06 that came into our shop was originally tuned by STS in Utah. However, the Arizona heat and elevation difference could hinder the previous tune and the only way to test it, was to dyno it.
Overall, the STS tune worked great, but thanks to HPTuner software, Vivid Racing was able to tweak and smooth the tune to work in our unique conditions. Final numbers came in at 536whp and 493 ft lbs or torque.
