Headlights are one of the biggest aftermarket categories when looking to do upgrades to your vehicle. People upgrade their headlights for a better look, as a replacement, but mainly to see better when driving at night. When it comes to older cars, the optics available were not that great. These are generally halogen lights that do not even compete with the LED lights of today’s modern cars. Companies like Morimoto have been designing and manufacturing LED technology lights for many different vehicles. Besides making tons of light upgrades for different cars and trucks like the set I had on my 2020 Ford Raptor, they also produce a line up for early model Porsche 911s.
Installing them is usually straight forward. But what we found out is the Euro 964 does not have the tabs on the inside of the headlight housing to screw the headlight in place. So after searching online, we came across this YouTube Channel where the guy had the same issue. So we had to dismantle the factory halogen lights, add some hobby brackets and then modify the cover. But for USA cars this is not an issue. Their headlight kits are available for the Porsche 964 like our project car, the Porsche 993, and the Porsche 997. These are completely remastered headlights available as a plug and play for the vehicles. For the earlier 964 and 993, these are a HUGE difference in the optics with their LED design. The appearance even rivals that of what comes on the Singer or Guntherwerks Porsche cars.
