We recently sold our friends Porsche 996TT to a customer in South America. Before it was to ship, he wanted to add some new styling components to the vehicle. In addition to the intercooler duct splitters and rear GT2 wing already on the car, we completed the theme by adding the TechArt side skirts and GT2 front bumper.
First, to install this new front bumper, we had to remove the stock one. To remove the stock front bumper you have to undo the undertray clips and then pop out the side markers and undo that hardware. On top of the bumper where it meets the hood are some clips as well to remove. Once this is complete, you can pull on the sides of the stock bumper and remove it. The new GT2 bumper requires the OEM GT2 Hood Grill from Porsche which goes between the hood and bumper. Once we had this bumper painted by our paint shop, we fitted it up to the car and reattached all the hardware and the lower front lip spoiler. Once installed, we had 3M clear bra added to the bumper to protect it from rock chips. The side skirts easily fitted to the car. The underside of the skirts use the existing clips to secure it. On the front and back of the side skirts in the wheel well, you insert metal screws to secure it in place. The part of the skirt that connects to the body of the car has black silicone applied and then taped into place until dry.
The end result… 1 awesome looking 996TT all blacked out!
