While we have shown you plenty of cool cars getting the VR Tuned treatment, this one will definitely get your attention. With that said, we are pleased to introduce to you this fully outfitted Ford Transit Van with the 3.5L Turbo EcoBoost engine which we flashed to get nearly 100 more horsepower and torque. To put these impressive gains into perspective, the Ford Transit EcoBoost model comes from the factory with 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. After we installed the VR Tuned ECU Flash Tune on it, this van now has a power output of 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.

You may be wondering why we choose a Ford Transit EcoBoost for our next project. Well, as you may know, the Ford Transit is highly popular across the motorsport industry (i.e. motocross, go-carts, racing cars, etc.). This made it a perfect target for us to go after and show our audience what the Transit Van can really produce and how it can benefit their enthusiast hobbies. Each and every feature of the Ford Transit was deliberately designed to maximize productivity and convenience, making this van the answer for any task. Moreover, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 was awarded “best-in-class peak fuel torque” which should tell you a lot off the bat.
First things first, we ran a baseline dyno test to see what numbers we were working with and to determine the potential power we could achieve. With that test, we found that the Ford Transit EcoBoost van was running between 295 and 303 wheel horsepower and between 386 and 418 pound-feet of torque to the wheels. After getting the tune software on the Ford Transit, the van was tested once again and it was learned that the 3.5L EcoBoost had a peak gain of 54 wheel horsepower and 43 pound-feet of torque. The power curve was extremely smooth and the gains were consistent throughout the power band. Not only did the numbers look good but the van also felt incredible on the road with its newfound potential unleashed.
