As many of you know, Vivid Racing recently drove to Los Angeles, California to hook up Fabio’s 2019 Porsche 991 GT2RS with an upgraded exhaust system and our VR Tuned ECU flash tune. We met Fabio at Pirelli P Zero World in Santa Monica, which is owned by Claus Ettensberger of CEC Wheels. If you missed that incredible footage, you may want to go check out that first before reading on here. Spoiler alert. We didn’t stop there, though, as we also upgraded Fabio’s 2016 Porsche 991 GT3RS with an IPE Exhaust and VR tune as well. While the Porsche GT3RS certainly turns heads in factory form, it stole the spotlight and broke many necks whipping through Hollywood and the open road with a full titanium IPE system. It’s hard to deny that the IPE is quite possibly one of the best sounding exhausts ever made for the GT3RS, and Fabio can certainly attest to that.

The IPE titanium cat-back exhaust with high-flow headers boasts minimum weight and maximum sound – the best of both worlds. This exhaust system consists of IPE’s trademark Valvetronic muffler with matte carbon fiber exhaust tips. This Porsche GT3 titanium exhaust is super lightweight at only 12.17 kilograms, which is a weight reduction of 53.1 percent compared to the original stock exhaust which weighs 26.0 kilograms. That’s a total of 13.83 kilograms saved by upgrading to the IPE system!
This titanium exhaust for the Porsche 991 GT3RS offers plenty of advantages like sharp looks, improved handling, increased performance, a tantalizing soundtrack, and a much lighter back end. The exhaust valves make it possible to improve both the torque and horsepower, while the muffler internals were engineered to specifically attack power gains and create that iconic F1 sound. And, of course, to truly unleash the full potential of Fabios’ 2016 Porsche 991 GT3RS, we installed our very own VR Tuned ECU flash tune after the exhaust install. The VR Tuned kit was expertly developed to focus on realizing its newfound power as well as improving the car’s entire power curve. With our Stage 1 calibration, the throttle response is vastly improved and the low-end torque comes to life much faster. The PDK transmission on the Porsche 991 GT3RS is controlled separately, but you will notice the gears hitting harder and quicker with the new increase in torque. With the VR Tuned flash, users can expect to see their lap times improved with faster corner exit speeds, better drivability, and impressive top speeds. It’s a win-win all around.
