Our customer John just got what the Doctor ordered for his 2011 Volkswagen GTI MK6. As a track junky, he wanted to greatly improve his stopping of the GTI for the fast tracks of Illinois. So we hooked him up with the StopTech front Big Brake Kit for his ride. The front kit features zinc plated, 2 piece floating rotors that are 328x28mm in size. The larger ST-40 4 piston caliper does the clamping with the help of some Axxis Ultimate pads and steel braided brake lines. Track Review – The kit came with standard stoptech street pads. And holy cow, did the whole system deliver – so I cannot even imagine what it will be like with one of their more aggressive pads. Again, changing pads on these is ridiculously easy. I am no mechanic in the least, and I could change pads on these in probably 20mins for both sides. I was able to brake harder and later, so much so, that the weak link on the car became the tires and no longer the brakes. There was virtually no fade whatsoever, and they are very confidence inspiring as well (good or bad!
