Back in 2005 we sold our most authentic and industry recognized Project EVO VIII. The first fully built EVO in the US was way ahead of its time. Featuring a full C-West JDM EVO VII front end conversion, big turbo kit, Bride Seats, 4 wheel big brake kit, and even Bride seats. This car was our 2nd success after our very first Project WRX I made us known. The EVO VIII was featured in magazines such as Sport Compact Car, Modified, Import Racer, and even a Japanese Magazine called DCar. This car was put to the test at the track and even came in 2nd place at Willow Springs at the battle of the STI vs Mini competition before Time Attack was even cool!
Soon after we sold this car to a gentleman in Ohio that at the same time bought the Sparco EVO. While enjoying the car, he eventually sold it to a guy in Maryland. The car had a brief stint there. Between a broken engine, water logged interior, and some lack of care, the car was then picked up by another guy in Ohio where it has been “restored” to its status of the ultimate JDM EVO VIII. New owner James Siebert of Bondi Motorsports will be beefing up this car and competing in a nationwide time attack series. With many new parts on the way, James has big shoes to fill and is very serious about his new mission. Check out the then and now photos on our official Project EVO VIII section here.
