We Made The Ford Raptor Ecoboost Louder With a Triple Tip Exhaust!

With the second generation Raptor, Ford replaced the V8 with their 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine. Whether you love or hate this engine, it opens up a massive world of opportunity thanks to the two turbochargers attached to the engine. Where the previous V8 Raptor gained very little power with bolt-on modifications, the second generation Raptor picks up massive amounts of power.

One of the most popular modifications for the second generation Raptor is an aftermarket exhaust system. The stock exhaust system limits flow and power, so replacing it with an aftermarket exhaust is an easy way to pick up some extra power. Here at VR headquarters, we recently had the opportunity to install and test the new Remus side-exit exhaust on a second gen Raptor.

What makes the Remus exhaust unique compared to all the other Raptor exhaust systems on the market is their unique side-exit triple-tip design. Routing the exhaust to exit before the rear tire helps shed unnecessary weight and give the Remus exhaust a unique sound. On top of that, their unique triple-tips design is vastly different from anything else on the market.

The exhaust is designed to replace everything from the catalytic converter back. Where the OEM exhaust uses two large mufflers, the Remus exhaust uses a single small muffler, giving the EcoBoost Raptor an aggressive exhaust note. Once we got the Raptor up on the lift, we uninstalled the factory exhaust and installed the Remus exhaust. Compared to the OEM exhaust, the Remus exhaust is significantly lighter and much higher quality.

Compared to stock, the Remus exhaust is significantly louder. Whether you’re ripping down the trails or cruising down the street, it sounds awesome. The increased piping diameter and improved design results in more power, especially low-end torque thanks to Ford’s use of very small twin turbos. Be sure to check out the videos below for the full install and testing!
