So, you’re looking for a perfect wheel fitment for your Subaru WRX and want to know which wheel fitment will suit your vehicles the best. But before we head on, let’s get to know your car first.

Get To Know Your Car

An all-wheel-drive performance compact automobile, the Subaru WRX is a Subaru. Based on the 1992 WRC-created Impreza, they reworked it into the current model. The WRX has a new body design from 2014, and a hatchback or wagon is no longer an option.

First Generation

For the 2015 model year, Subaru decided to cease utilizing the Impreza brand for the WRX and the STI models. Subaru’s WRX performance model is based on the GJ and GP Imprezas and has more powerful engines, tighter suspension, bigger brakes, lower ride height, and more enormous air intakes than the standard model. The new model’s body shape deviates dramatically from the prior iteration.

Powertrain

Direct injection and a twin-scroll turbocharger are standard features on the 2.0-liter FA20F engine, debuting this year. Instead of the previous 5-speed gearbox, the WRX comes standard with the 6-speed TY75. EJ engines of the prior generation STI are retained in this iteration of STI’s EJ powerplant (2.0L EJ207 for Japanese models).

Special editions

They included the Subaru WRX STI (VA) S207/S208/S209 (JDM) and S209 (USDM) in the total of 400450209 models. 323 horsepower is available. 241 horsepower is available. A 241-horsepower/241-kilowatt engine powers both the Engineej257 (EJ-S207) and Engineej257 (EJ-S207) (S208).

WRX STI Launch Edition

Subaru unveiled an 18-inch BBS alloy wheeled WRX STI Launch Edition in World Rally Blue Pearl Pearl in 2015. Only a limited number of them were made available in the United States.

Receptions

The 2015 Subaru WRX has received a mixed reception from the automotive press. It easily outperformed its competitors in the under-$30,000 price range. However, it had a lower-quality interior and a less-satisfying ride.

Issues

Rev hang plagues WRX models from 2015 to 2019, albeit lessened for 2020. The EJ257 engine’s previous problems, such as piston Ringland and rod bearing failure, still affect WRX STI cars.

Second generation

The second-generation WRX debuted in 2017 with a series of concept cars branded the VIZIV Performance Concept. At the New York International Auto Show on August 19, 2021, they expected Subaru to debut the all-new 2022 WRX model. Rescheduled for September 10, the reveal will now take place.

Viziv concepts

During the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, they showed the Viziv Performance concept. Compared to the first-generation (VA) WRX, it has a larger wheelbase by 81/#160; mm (3.2:in). As a result, the overhangs have been decreased by 36mm since the overall length has grown. The vehicle’s powertrain specifications have not yet been made public.

North America

On September 10, 2021, they introduced the North American market to the second-generation standalone Subaru WRX. According to the manufacturer, the new FA24F is powered by a turbocharged horizontally opposed 4-cylinder boxer engine that generates 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The new engine features include more pistons, computerized wastegate control, and air bypass valves.

Oceania

They will sell second-generation WRX station wagons based on Levorg in Australia and New Zealand, Subaru Australia and New Zealand announced. In Australia, it’s known as the WRX Sportswagon. The New Zealand WRX GT has a Japanese-built 2.4-liter turbo boxer engine.

Japan

They unveiled the WRX S4 from Japan on November 25, 2021, and it will be available in the United States and Europe shortly after.GT-H and STI Sport R variants are available, with pricing beginning at 4,004,000 for the GT-H model and 4,389,000 for the STi Sport R model. Subaru’s “EyeSight X” you may purchase a sophisticated driver-assistance system for an extra $385,000 in the “EX” grade. The FA24 2.4L direct-injection turbo boxer engine powers the WRX.

Sales

Since 2015, sales in the United States have been decreasing. Even with pre-split cars, the WRX had its best year in 2015.

Rallying

The Subaru Legacy rally vehicle had its last appearance at Rally New Zealand, and the Impreza Group sent a rally to Rally Finland to commemorate the occasion. The WRX STI was first used in the WRC competition in 1994 when it was made accessible. As a result, Subaru has withdrawn from the World Rally Championship, citing the Great Recession as the reason.
