Wilwood is pleased to announce the release of their new and exclusive Thermlock pistons. These pistons provide the most effective thermal barrier available for minimizing heat transfer from the brake pads to the caliper body, seals and fluids. Originally developed for NASCAR and professional racing, which are known for extreme temperatures and sustained high heat, the Thermlock two-piece pistons feature a stainless steel shield and coated aluminum shell. This, in turn, slows heat transfer by at least 25 percent. This reduction in operating temperature eliminates seal crystallization and localized fluid boiling, which decreases distortion in the caliper body and piston bores. The result is an extension of overall service life.
