Your BMW transmission’s fluid pan is a very important component that stores and supplies fluid to your transmission. While the factory transmission fluid pan may provide an adequate supply of fluid to your transmission under normal driving conditions, the same cannot be said during more “enthusiastic” driving.
The Wortec transmission fluid pan is constructed out of aluminum, which is stronger and more durable than the OEM transmission fluid pan. By constructing the pan from aluminum and not billet, Wortec was able to incorporate cooling fins into the transmission fluid pan design. Consequently, the heat is dissipated from the transmission fluid faster, leading to lower fluid temperatures.
Overall, Wortec’s oil pans are anodized, cool faster and dissipate heat better. This particular one allows the transmission fluid to run 40F cooler compared to other ones on the market. Wortec’s pans are also stronger than the competition – it will withstand a rock up to 30mph and hold an extra liter of fluid.
