Best BMW M5 Headers

BMW M5 Headers are a huge gain in horsepower and torque! Having tested header upgrades on our Project Cars, we have seen the BMW M5 V10 E60 pick up some serious power after installing aftermarket headers. Headers are available for the E39 M5 and the E60 V10 M5, but unfortunately the F10 M5 can't use aftermarket headers because they are integrated into the turbos. BMW M5 headers are available in catless or catted configurations, with catless options not being legal for road use in most countries.

Anytime you install a catless or high flow cat header, you will want to install an ECU tune as well. ECU tuning raises the O2 limits of the sensor so you will not get a check engine light (CEL). Headers can also force your M5 to lean out the AFRs, so tuning can help bring the AFRs back to an acceptable level. Headers also drastically increase the sound of your vehicle, so prepare for your M5 to get very loud. Most of the time, this is a good thing, but if excessive sound is an issue for you, a valved catback exhaust can help alleviate this. The sound change from the headers really opens the engine up to breathe better.

If you run a full exhaust system, this can teeter near a full race car sound. We recommend headers for those that have already installed an exhaust and are looking for that extra power gain. Vivid Racing carries headers and other performance parts for BMW M5 cars, as well as all other BMW applications.
