KW Variant 2 V2 Coilover Honda S2000 00-09

I first want to thank an KW Suspensions for giving all of us car junkies this great opportunity to experience what a quality suspension is all about. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I found out that I had actually came in the top 3 rides an would be receiving a free set of KW V2’s. I had heard great things from a lot of my friends who already own a KW suspension on their cars. To be honest, with my budget I really don’t think I would ever afford a suspension like the KW V2’s. Now that I have them they are never coming off the car, Lol. I swear, when I saw the FedEx man at my door with a delivery from an KW it felt like Christmas in August. So after I finished doing a little celebration dance I got the box open an was amazed at the initial look of the coilovers. Even though I’m not a huge fan of purple, the shine of the struts an the clash of the bright yellow springs I was like hmm… purple isn’t so bad. After trying to learn German in one night I realized there was an English section to the Instructions for installation, an I felt a lot better about how I was going to go about putting these bad boys on.

Now you would know my luck that it would be pouring down raining the day I got the coilovers an then again the very next day. So being a patient person I put on some old clothes an set up shop in the driveway in the rain. I kid you not, it was harder getting the old set of coilovers off the car than it was putting these KW’s on. Once in place an bolted in the KW’s looked like they were meant to always be there. Following the easy to read instructions an the example pictures provided the whole install was a piece of cake. I had the old suspension off an the KW V2’s on the car in about 3 hours. Now mind you that I’m not a auto mechanic an I did this in my driveway without a lift or air tools, only needed my Craftsmen Socket/Wrench set, some PB Blast, a hammer, an a couple extra dry shirts. In my opinion pretty much anyone who doesn’t care about getting dirty could have put these coilovers on, giving the instructions provided by KW. I could not believe how easy tuning the V2’s were. The ride height adjustment was 10x easier than the previous coilovers I had. There was no straining to break lock-nuts loose an fight the strut down into the base housing, just one nut which the springs seated into that practically glided up an down the strut an a simple set screw to prevent it from slipping. Finding the ride height an stance I wanted for my car took no time at all. I couldn’t be happier with how the install went.

Ok, I was a little nervous on how the KW V2’s would ride, being that the spring rates are 9k. Reason being, is I’m coming from coilovers that had 12k and 10k springs an I was accustom to a stiff rigid ride. So I was worried that the car might feel too soft an not respond like I’d hope in the corners. After a little run down one of my favorite back roads here I will be the first to say I was dumb for even doubting the capabilities KW an the V2’s. I have never felt so comfortable driving aggressively on challenging roads. I was all smiles when I got back to the house, an couldn’t wait to call my buddy an tell him about the V2’s. Reason being, because he an I are forever talking about different products an ways to improve our cars. Needless to say I owe him a ride in my car now, along with some of the people that voted for me in the contest to help me win these. I can’t wait to get the car back to the track an put these V2’s in action. To wrap this up I am so grateful to all the people who voted for me, because without them none of this would be possible an once again to an KW Suspension for looking out for the little people like myself.
