Barum Tires

Buying tires is a matter of trust. Barum not only offers you suitable tires at a good price, but also expert advice tailored to your car and your traffic needs. All in line with our "Good tires. Good deal." claim. People have been relying on Barum tires for more than 70 years. The secret of our success? Premium quality materials and careful workmanship at affordable tire prices. When Barum tires are fitted to your car you will be impressed by their well-balanced driving characteristics and very high mileage.

As one of the most successful tire manufacturers in Europe and a member of the Continental Group, we currently produce over 21 million tires annually. While we continuously optimise our internal processes, our tire prices always remain fair to you.

At first glance, all tires are round and made from dark rubber. But if you take a closer look, you will come to realise that tires are a real high-tech product made from many different components. This is why research and tire manufacturing technologies have been the focus at Barum from the very beginning, and more so than ever before since we joined the Continental Group in 1993. Why? Because Barum benefits from the experience and research capacities of the German tire manufacturer and can therefore focus on the overall objective: Safe driving pleasure, premium tire quality and low prices.

Quality is the be-all and end-all

Thanks to years of experience, premium quality Barum tires for cars, SUVs and vans are rolling off the production lines at our modern factories. Our high standards have also been recognised by the Lloyd's Register Group. Barum was awarded the Lloyd's Register Certificate in 1994 in accordance with ISO 9001 for the quality of the production process for car and lorry tires.

In addition to the high quality demands placed on the production process, economic aspects also play an important role for Barum. The company was awarded the Health and Environmental Protection Prize in 1998 for the quality of our environmental control system.

The foundation for Barum's success story was laid by the founding trio: Bata, Rubana and Mitas. These three rubber visionaries jointly founded a tire company in the Czech town of Zlín in 1948. One man in particular provided the necessary expertise: Jan Antonín Ba??a. His name is firmly associated with the Czech Republic and the successful production of shoes. The business was founded by his brother, Tomáš Ba??a, in 1894, and Jan Antonín took over the group's business in 1932. After nationalisation in 1945, Bata finally devoted himself to new challenges in the rubber business. He recognised the great potential of the material for the automobile industry and devoted himself entirely to his idea: instead of work, protective and street shoes, it would only be tires that left the factory from now on. A suitable name for the new company was quickly found, putting together the initial letters of the three founders' names to create the brand name 'Barum'.

A winning range of products

p>As one of the most effective production and sales companies in the world, Barum produces over 21 million car tires annually. This fact makes the company very optimistic about the future and it also ensures that Barum regularly launches new products on the market. The company developed the high-speed Bravuris tire in 2002 and then boosted total annual production to over 15 million tires. In the anniversary year 2018, Barum launched its '5' tire series, and not only the Bravuris 5HM summer tire, but also the Polaris 5 winter tire and the Quartaris 5 all-season tire were launched on the market.

Truck and pick-up tires are also part of the tire production process. Since 1982, Barum has been one of the first companies to manufacture all-steel car tires for trucks – with great success. A new production hall dedicated entirely to truck tires was opened in 2015, in which one million truck tires are produced today.

The secret to Barum's success? The vision and drive to develop even better products. This is why the company is constantly optimising its tires and developing new technologies so that you can drive safely on all roads.
