The Ventus Z214 radial is Hankook's Racetrack & Autocross Only racing tire developed for drivers competing in autocross, time attack and road racing, as well as for day-to-day drivers looking for racing-slick grip in dry and damp conditions. The Ventus Z214 is designed to combine dry traction, cornering power and steering response to inspire driver confidence and quick times.

Designed symmetrically, the Hankook Ventus Z214 is a semi-slick tire with two longitudinal grooves for outstanding circuit or hill climb performance in dry or damp conditions. The Hankook Ventus Z214 has effective longitudinal grooves reducing unnecessary buildup of heat, squirms and need of shaving of treads. 

The Ventus Z214 radials feature a symmetrically designed semi-slick 4/32 "starting treadmill that is only interrupted by two circumferential grooves to reduce squirm, undesired heat build-up and eliminate the need for treadmill shaving. Heat cycles are recommended to enhance consistency and wear. Ventus Z214 tires feature directional rotation arrows tagged on their side walls to identify the need for treadmill shaving. Following the rotation arrows, the use of the symmetrical treadmill design allows the Ventus Z214 tires are to be mounted on either side of the car. The inner structure of the tire consists of twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wrapped nylon cord at the top of a three-ply nylon cord casing.

Being DOT approved radials, the Hankook Ventus Z214 is a symmetrical semi slick tire providing directional rotation, steering response and impactful cornering balance and power. Although the Ventus Z214 radials meet the DOT requirements, they are not suitable for road use. Ventus Z214 radials are not recommended for driving under wet conditions where standing water is present and there is a risk of hydroplaning; drivers should exercise caution at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. And like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, the Ventus Z214 radials are not intended to be driven at near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It is also essential to store these tires indoors at temperatures above 32 degrees F.
