Forgestar is proud of the 17" and 18" Forgestar D5 Drag Wheel. The D5 is the World's first forged beadlock drag wheel on the market. They developed and engineered the D5 with their lightweight rotary forged technology, resulting in higher load ratings and ultimate weight savings. Accessible in both beadlock and non-beadlock options.

Forgestar's D5 Drag wheels set the standard being the World's first beadlock monoblock wheel. Made from 6061 Aluminum Beadlock Ring, the spoke design is integrated into the ring. Deep concave profile re-engineered for high offset applications with bespoke options available. As in classic Forgestar fashion, the D5’s are drag strip approved, lightweight, and efficiently clears big brake kits.

Forgestar Rotary Forging Method

Flow Forming is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim "flows" down to create the full rim width. 

During Flow Forming, the pressure applied to the cast rim changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. 

Forgeline's technological breakthroughs in heat treating allow them to increase dent resistance without having to make the wheel heavier.
