Hooker Headers is a company founded by Gary Hooker in 1962. It started when he decided to design a header for his 409 Chevrolet. Soon after, he realized a demand for headers in his area and decided to produce them commercially. Starting with a few employees in a building in South Ontario, CA, Hooker Headers was born.
The company’s philosophy is simple, to produce a header design that would make real and usable power by balancing the exhaust and intake pressure waves. It allows the engine to expel the burnt gas and draw in air for a better fuel and air mixture. This philosophy is evident to all of their products, making them one of the most sought-after brands.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Hooker Headers dominated the drag racing scene as almost all of the NHRA Pro Stock cars are using Hooker Headers. It is also used by legendary racers Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, Sox & Martin, and Bob Glidden and was a regular during their campaigns. Up to this day, Hooker Headers holds the claim of the winningest header in drag racing history.
If you are in the market for a high-quality exhaust system for your vehicle, Hooker Headers is the brand for you. They lead the way when it comes to header designs and technology and is used by many racers and enthusiasts worldwide. For almost 60 years, they have consistently provided their customers with the best products that satisfy their optimum performance needs.
