The rear hugger in carbon for the Ducati Hypermotard and Multistrada is a direct replacement for the original component and contributes mainly to weight saving on the motorcycle up to 70% less and a higher stiffness of the parts. Like all of our carbon fibre parts, it was made according to the latest protocols and industry standards and can be considered to encompass all aspects of current 'best of industry' practice. The part is made completely out of pre-preg carbon fibre materials using an autoclave. As with all our carbon parts, we use a clear plastic coating that not only improves the appearance, but also protects the carbon fibre from scratching and has a unique UV resistance.
The rear mudguard reduces considerably the amount of dirt and spray thrown up by the rear wheel and provides much needed protection to the shock absorber and the underseat area. Referring to the different models and types of motorcycles, the rear hugger incorporates different stock suspension and tire sizes.

The carbon parts are made using pre-impregnated carbon fabric in an autoclave. If you must know, pre-impregnated carbon fabric is much more environmental-friendly. You can say that the company knows their responsibility within and outside of their business.
The carbon fabric undergoes a dry process in aluminum molds that are milled from solid and packed in vacuum bags.
From here, the parts are baked for multiple hours under negative pressure in the sack and overpressure from the outside. The temperature is being adjusted accordingly.
Once done, the parts are removed from the mold. It will be cut in the water jet cutting device and is coated with clear plastic coating.
