The latest Kumho Road Venture AT51, which debuted in June 2015, will soon overtake the earlier AT KL78 all-terrain model. The AT51 is developed for light-duty trucks, jeeps, and SUVs, and it includes several innovations that are intended to improve grip, especially in snow, and road safety and treads life. Kumho has developed a new dual silica tread compound designed to endure cuts, punctures, and bruises caused by rugged off-road conditions. If you look at the tread pattern, it looks a lot like the BFG All-Terrain KO. The AT51 includes full-depth stepped circumferential grooves that help with off-road traction on loose dirt and gravel, which we enjoy.

Kumho's ESCOT Casing Technology improves steering response and tire life by distributing sidewall cord stress evenly.

To improve off-road endurance and highway stability, the tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts strengthened with spirally wrapped nylon. A two-ply polyester cord body and jointless bead bundles help absorb bumps and vibration for a better, calmer ride. Kumho Road Venture AT51 tires are labeled with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) mark and fulfill the industry's severe snow service criteria. While non-winter tires with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) mark may offer more longitudinal snow traction than all-season (M+S) tires without the symbol, they cannot match the capacity of a true winter tire in all weather circumstances.
