Pirelli's Scorpion Winter Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter / Snow tire is designed for today's powerful premium crossover and sport utility vehicles. Pirelli's Ecoimpact icons, stamped on the sidewalls, indicate the tire's environmental benefit in terms of clean air, energy efficiency, and low noise. Scorpion Winter tires combine reliable handling on dry and wet roads with grip in snow and ice to provide low-temperature wintertime driving capability.
The Scorpion Winter improves grip and stability in standard winter road conditions with a tread rubber composition that includes a new polymer blend and a higher proportion of silica elements. The tread compound is molded into a directional form with a rounded tread pattern, modular center block architecture, and stable shoulders to improve dry road performance. Circumferential grooves aid grip on wet and slushy roads, while snow booster ridges molded into the grooves' bottoms and multi-directional sipes aid bite into snow and ice.
Note: Scorpion Winter tires with Section Widths up to and including 255 have a 3-rib tread design, whereas tires with Section Widths of 265 and wider have a 5-rib tread configuration. Scorpion Winter Performance Winter/Snow radials are marked with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) mark and exceed the industry's harsh snow service criteria.
